Nutrition
All meals are prepared in our centre kitchen. Our menus are developed with children’s nutritional needs in mind, but also allow staff to prepare meals that children will enjoy.
Children are given apple after each meal as part of our dental hygiene practices.
Water is provided to all children throughout the day. On special occasions children may have milk, yoghurt or fruit smoothies.
Our menu is designed to ensure children are provided with a variety of meals and we consider the likes and dislikes of the children. You can view the current menu at the centre in the entrance foyer.
Left over food is recycled and used in our compost bin or if appropriate given to the rabbit and guinea pig.
Where special dietary requirements are required we will consult with the family during the orientation process to manage any meal requirements. Where allergies that pose the risk of anaphylaxis apply the family will be responsible for supplying the service with an action plan from a medical professional and other documentation about their child’s allergy. If the centre cannot prepare the child’s food in a way that does not pose a risk to the child or other children attending the service the family may be asked to provide the child’s food. All Families, Staff & Visitors will be made aware of a child with an anaphylaxis reaction to any foods etc through displaying this information within the centre’s entrance foyer.
No child with a particular preference of food will be excluded from the group. While we do our best to cater for all nutritional requirements please speak with staff on orientation to ensure your child’s needs are correctly understood.
